Fees for home delivery service go to foodbank
BUDGEN’S is struggling to maintain its home delivery service and has appealed for volunteers to keep the operation going.
Andrew Thornton, founder of the store in Belsize Park, said “as more and more of our team go down with illnesses and are being asked to self-isolate, keeping our basic operation going is becoming more and more challenging”.
He said volunteers were needed to “pick and pack” orders, carry out home deliveries and to manage the process.
Fees charged for home deliveries go to Camden foodbanks, Mr Thornton said.
Shelf fillers are also needed to “cover for ill team members” in a paid or unpaid role.
