FORMER Hampstead School pupil Rachel Yankey was beaming with pride as she posed for a picture with Arsenal Ladies’ general manager Vic Akers on Sunday after the club retained their Women’s Super League title.

Far from lingering in the success, however, the striker quickly turned her attentions to today’s (Thursday) game against Barcelona in the Champions League at Boreham Wood FC.

The Spanish giants face a tough task in turning the tie around after losing the first leg 3-0 last week, a scoreline Yankey admits was flattering.

“In Barcelona we got away with it in some respects because we could have been two or three down in the first half, so coming back with a three-goal advantage is fantastic. Now we have to finish that game off,” she said.

The game against Barcelona is at 3pm.
