HEARING the news that a proposed redevelopment that threatened their pub had been overturned clearly rejuvenated players from the Golden Lion pool team on Monday.

The boys, who play their homes games at the pub in Royal College Street, celebrated by beating King’s Cross Hawks 8-1 away, to pocket only their third win of the season in Division One of the Chalk Farm Pool League.

Dave Fox capitalised on an unforced error as he skilfully wrapped up the Lion’s biggest win of the campaign so far.

Elsewhere defending champions Sir Robert Peel maintained their dominance at the top of the table with a 6-3 victory over King’s Cross Hurricanes.
