JONAS Eidevall wants to show Gooners the “very best version” of his Arsenal side on Sunday when they take on Aston Villa at the Emirates Stadium.

The Gunners are still awaiting their first win of the new Women’s Super League season after following up their 1-0 home defeat against Liverpool on the opening day with a 2-2 draw away to Manchester United on Friday.

Cloe Lacasse hit a stunning stoppage-time goal to earn Arsenal a point at the Leigh Sports Village Stadium. United had come from behind to take a 2-1 lead after Stina Blackstenius had fired the Gunners in front.

Praising the travelling support, Eidevall said: “It’s massive and it’s such a big part of what makes this club special. If there was one thing I was disappointed with after Liverpool, it was that we couldn’t energise the crowd more for it.

“I really hope as many as possible come against Aston Villa because we will do everything we can to energise and show our very best version of ourselves.”

Elsewhere, Tottenham secured their first win under new boss Robert Vilahamn with a comfortable 3-1 win over Bristol City.

Summer signing Olga Ahtinen opened the scoring, while Martha Thomas and Eveliina Summanen were also on target. Spurs travel to Brighton & Hove Albion this Sunday.

Meanwhile, fresh from earning a last-gasp 1-1 draw away to nine-player Manchester City on Sunday, defending champions Chelsea will host London rivals West Ham on Saturday.
