THE Hurricanes blew away their opponents at the weekend to capture the first piece of silverware of the season in the Camden Sunday League.
Well-taken goals from Simon Lawrence and Ben Marcangelo saw the Blues take a 2-0 lead over Enate United in the first half of the Bill Price Cup final at Hackney Marshes.
A dogged United side pulled a goal back within five minutes of the restart. But led by man-of-the-match Tom Wakefield the Hurricanes picked up the pace and went on a goal spree.
Debutant Matt Perry restored the two-goal cushion before strikes from Dave Power and Nick Hayward put the finishing touches to a 5-1 win.
The Hurricanes will be among the teams kicking off a whole host of league fixtures this weekend when they take on Athletico Annies.
And, elsewhere in Division One, Constitution will face Surreal Madrid, Crouch End Rangers will host London Badgers and MDM will tackle Tufnell Park Athletic.
