Exhaust diesel fumes

More traffic and pollution

• I ATTENDED the council meeting on Tuesday at Acland Burghley school for the LTN, low traffic neighbourhood, planned for the Dartmouth Park area, which goes all the way up to Highgate village.

I can only view this LTN as a complete and utter abomination. Cameras to stop you going down all different roads. It will mean it is like having road works permanently and having to spend hours of your week going the long way round with excess traffic on the few roads in operation.

They call cameras filters but are actually blocking you from driving down certain roads or you get a ticket.

When I asked will a consultation be put through everyone’s door the answer was no.

When I asked will there be a yes and no box as to whether you want this scheme the answer was no; and we all know why because in any area the vast majority vote against.

Blocking roads means more traffic and more pollution. That is what happened in Haringey and it’s been a disaster.

This is a cash cow as, within no time at all, the council makes a fortune from the tickets…

The council knows very well people do not want this and that is why they hide it under the name of traffic scheme instead of LTN.

I can also tell you that this scheme is illegal but councils break the law all the time and get away with it.

One law for us and another for them.
