• WHILE we appreciate the one month + Black History Month celebration from Camden Council, black women in the borough would appreciate a safe space to meet other black women, particularly black mothers.

I understand the council is taking issues women face seriously now. However black women face a double whammy, anti-blackness and sexism, underlined by the term invented by a black American woman named Moya Bailey: “Misogynoir”.

I would appreciate if she was credited for the word she invented or if most people read her book: Misogynoir Transformed: Black Women’s Digital Resistance, 2021, NYU Press.
