Louisa Tame with her son Peter

• I HAD the pleasure to read the news about Louisa Tame celebrating her 101st birthday, (Former Haverstock School dinner lady celebrates 101st birthday, July 23).

I knew the Tame family in the early 1960s and they were a well-liked and respected family. I remember Mr Tame and his son Brian pulling hundredweight coal sacks off the back of his lorry and delivering to the coal bunkers, often climbing stairs.

I knew Ms Tame’s son, Peter, very well and was often invited to Sunday tea which was a lovely spread of seafood. I was always made very welcome.Well done Lou, best wishes.

PS: My mother was 91 on July 28 and Lou used to visit her.
