Be careful what you say about drugs on the street
Thursday, 15th November 2018
• ABOUT 18 months before the advice to “Say ‘no’ to dealers on the street” (New Journal, November 8), I was with a friend in Gospel Oak and we politely asked what we took to be either a drug dealer or user to please phone his dealer/customers elsewhere than in an open public space, near a children’s playground.
The person then became very aggressive. It was around the time that the new super-strength “spice” began to appear. The person appeared set on doing us some very serious harm. Fortunately, by sheer chance, two of our neighbours happened by and our antagonist legged it.
By all means register your disapproval of drug sellers, but be very careful of what you say, where, and to whom. In any event, I am not sure what effect such a comment would have on dealers, as there would seem to be many people who are saying “yes”.
