PLAYERS from the Green Man chalked up another shock result on Monday night as teams from across Camden and Islington took to the tables for the third round of fixtures in the Chalk Farm Pool League.

Fresh from beating champions Sir Robert Peel 5-4 in their previous game, the Essex Road giants were once again the pride of Islington as they sealed a resounding 8-1 victory over Peckwater TA. The result leaves Green Man joint top of the division one table with King’s Cross Hawks, who secured a satisfying 6-3 win over Prince of Wales Dynamos.

Meanwhile division two debutants King’s Cross Barbarians have quickly settled into their new surroundings.

Andy Lishak’s side made it three wins out of three on Monday with a convincing 7-2 victory over postcode rivals King’s Cross Invaders.

The Barbarians are one of four sides in the division boasting maximum points, with The Lion, who beat Slattery's Squatters 6-3, Boston Old Skool, who ran out 6-3 winners against RPTA, and the Green Man ‘B’ team, who won 5-4 against Cock Tavern Aloysius. All are set to play their part in a pulsating race for the title.
