• I LIVE on Primrose Gardens, Belsize Park, which has a small green on the middle of the street.

The ground-floor flat in which I live is almost directly opposite a small square in the park where the gardeners use the leaf-blowers.

Not only is the noise terrible but clouds of dust can be seen flying through the air and layers of dust settling on tops of cars and entering my front window.

The front room is my bedroom. At night I cannot open the large, lower windows due to safety concerns.

There is a small window above one of them. In order to open it I must use a ladder to reach very high up. In warmer weather I cannot sleep with this window closed.

It would be even more of an inconvenience to constantly have to open and close this window, (and possibly falling and breaking my neck).

Besides, I cannot be certain when these leaf-blowers will be used. By the time I do so, all the dust has entered the room anyway!

This flat in a converted Victorian house collects enough dust without this unnecessary addition.

Why such laziness to remove some leaves in a small square anyway? The leaf-blowers should be banned entirely, not just during the pandemic.
