Bad timing, a ‘decision’ on our medical centre

Thursday, 15th June 2017

• SO on Friday morning, June 9, just as the biggest protest vote against austerity and privatisation in long years swept the Tories’ majority away, our primary care commissioning body informs the folks of Somers Town that our non-profit, superbly-run, medical centre is to be replaced by a (presumably) for-profit mini-corporation.

We knew a decision was to be made (though why it had to be beats me) but the letter announcing their decision gives not one single reason, only that they will hold a few “engagement sessions” to introduce the new, entirely imposed, staff.

Like it or lump it. Ah the sweet smell of democracy, eh?
