SIR Robert Peel pairing Sonny Saunders and Danny James are gunning to win back their doubles crown in the Chalk Farm Pool League.

The duo saw their hopes of pocketing the title for a fifth successive year come to an abrupt end last season when they were knocked out of the competition by Everton Berry and Mehool Shah from the Boston Arms.

But Saunders (left) and James were back in a winning frame of mind on Monday night when they beat Shaun Pollard and Brendan O’Hara from the Golden Lion 2-0 in their opening round clash at the Bank of Friendship pub in Islington.
