MIDDLEWEIGHT Alan “The Avalanche” Higgins is counting down the days until he steps between the ropes for his first ever 10-round contest.

The Kilburn boxer, who turned professional in July 2012, will take on Jason Ball at the York Hall in Bethnal Green on February 23.

It’s the second time the two have met, with Higgins beating Ball on points over six rounds in February last year.
