ASH Rahman has hit out at any suggestions that he’s got a conflict of interest after a row broke out involving one of London’s top football youth leagues.
As founder of both Camden and Regent’s Park Youth League Ltd and Pro Touch Soccer Academy, a club which has numerous sides playing in the competition, some people might raise questions over his allegiances.
But Ash says any attempts to question his motivations behind the scenes are “simply insulting”.
“Yes, I have financial responsibilities to both the league and the academy, both of which are non-profit social enterprises. I’m obligated to make sure I run both to the best of my abilities with the resources I have available. If my influence was biased in any way surely Pro Touch would have 18, if not more, teams in the league next season and not just 12?
“I’d say the real question is where would the league be without me? My contributions to the league speak for themselves, and I find the idea that my involvement in both Pro Touch and the league somehow affects or jeopardises the work I do insulting.”
