ARSENE Wenger is hoping there will be “no regrets” when the final whistle blows on another season in the Premier League on Sunday.

Wenger takes his team to the Hawthorns to face West Brom knowing that only victory will guarantee them third place and a route into next season’s Champions League.

The pressure is on as, if the Gunners are held to a draw, rivals Tottenham could leapfrog them in the table.

And if they lose Newcastle could knock them out of the top-four completely.

There’s also the added complication that the team finishing fourth will miss out on a place in the Champions League if Chelsea beat Bayern Munich in the final on May 19.

Having taken so many variables into consideration Wenger is hoping that Arsenal’s failure to beat the likes of Norwich, Chelsea and Wigan at the Emirates Stadium won’t come back to haunt them.
“It will be another tense week," said the Frenchman.

“When you consider the last three home games, we have taken two points, we have a lot of regrets. Let’s hope we will not pay the heavy price for that.

“We don’t know whether fourth will be enough. It is not Champions League proper, it is a qualifier at best. Maybe not at all if Chelsea win the Champions League.”

Wenger has warned his players not to get caught up in the “emotion” of the day as the Baggies bid farewell to Roy Hodgson, who is taking over as England manager.

“I believe that it will be an emotional departure, maybe, but I think what is important for us is to turn up with a good performance and win the football game.

“But it will be difficult, certainly,” Wenger added.
