ARSENAL FC: The Crow – Congratulations to London’s second and third teams

Thursday, 29th March 2012

WELL done to London’s second team Spurs for finding themselves in the FA Cup semi-finals.

It’s been a tough old pursuit: Watford, Cheltenham and Stevenage all had to be overcome to get there.

It’s quite an achievement.

Well done them.

And well done to The Chels – London’s third team – too for reaching these advanced stages.

They beat Portsmouth, Birmingham and Leicester to get there. Not since Mourinho could they dream of overcoming such hurdles.

Now, if Chelsea were to lift the FA Cup in May and get the open-top bus out (they won’t, they will lose to Spurs) it might be worth reminding them how much they really care about the competition.

Rather than experiencing a rush for tickets for their last-16 tie with Leicester at Stamford Bridge the other week, the match was advertised in Metro.

Please come.

Stamford the Lion will be there, with his fluffy mane.

He will wave at you.

And the bald man with the microphone and the clip board will introduce the teams and say funny things.

And we’ll play The Liquidator.

And the Suggs song about “Chelsea Chelsea”.

It will be fun.

We’ll have flags.

Please come.

Please.

Please.

In contrast, Chelsea will have no trouble selling semi-final tickets. It’s not for me to call them fickle over there, but…
