Are they trying to make pandemic cash out of us?

• IS Camden Council trying to use the pandemic to recoup money in a dishonest or questionable fashion?
Libraries closed early and are set to reopen late. I have received no reminder of a failure to pay council tax, possibly designed to result in “enforcement measures” with a major increase in the debt.
The housing benefit office have “lost” three letters which would have acted as a reminder, resulting in a possible massive loss and the residents’ parking system simply failed to work, very nearly causing a ticket and a substantial fine for non-payment.
Using emails would have sorted out some of these problems. Why is it that frequently the council demands that electronic measures are used and on other occasions fails to use them when the opportunity to generate fines seems attractive to them?
There is no consistency. The council should remember that we are now closer to the next local election than the last one but I doubt officers are much bothered by that.
On the other hand councillors should remember that there are means to have them suspended from the party which should concern them rather more.
