WILLING Robin Hoods aged from as young as three to 93 enjoyed the chance to try out something a little different when they joined in a fun afternoon of archery.

An enthusiastic crowd gathered in Camden Square for the free taster-session, where they shot blunt arrows at mythical creatures and knights.

Organised by Hampstead Bowman coach Dave Humphrys, the event was a trial run for an archery competition that will be included in the annual Disability Awareness Day, which will be held at the Talacre Community Sports Centre in Kentish Town next year.

Among the bow brigade was Gladys Lyon, 93, who showed her archery skills as she hit the target first time.

“I’ve been getting my shots on target,” she said.

A stunning castle backdrop was made by members from The Camden Shed, a newly formed workshop based on Maiden Lane which was set up by a couple of retired men so that they could work on practical projects.
