Sir Keir Starmer

Open letter to Sir Keir Starmer

• THANK you for taking the time to respond to my email.

I am glad to learn that you support some humanitarian aid coming through to the Gaza Strip.

However, I have to say it would be shocking if you did not.

Furthermore it is highly disappointing that you are supporting this war, which follows from your rejection of a ceasefire.

You state emphatically that you support Israel’s right to “defend” itself. But that is surely different from killing thousands of innocent people.

And do the Palestinians not have the same right to “defend” themselves?

If Hamas’s killing of innocent people is an act of terror then how do you define Israel’s killing of children in their thousands?

Basically rather than seeking a peaceful solution you are taking sides.

Consequently I cannot see how your proposed establishment of a special envoy dedicated to Middle East peace can achieve anything useful when it is rooted in such a biased viewpoint, one devoid of a consistent concept of justice.
