An invitation from Camden Older People’s Advisory Group
Thursday, 22nd November 2018
• OUR group is open to anyone living in Camden who is over 60. We meet every month to discuss different issues that we are interested in and hear from speakers such as TfL, transport and streets at Camden Council, and the London Fire Brigade.
I joined the group because I wanted to get more involved with the older generation and to hear about what is happening in Camden that enables us to lead a more active, independent and social life, and to stop us from feeling isolated. I have made new friends.
It’s good to come to find like-minded people to talk to, rather than keeping everything to yourself. You won’t feel so lonely and isolated. I also like to come because we get to use our brains!
We might have aches and pains but we can still do our best and motivate ourselves by coming to groups like this. It’s also an opportunity to meet and learn from the younger generation.
We support and encourage each other, and if someone does not attend, we make sure to phone and find out how they are. I have met a lot of new people and learnt a lot from them at Camden Older People’s Advisory Group. We welcome you to join us.
If you would like to join our meetings please call Ageing Better in Camden on 020 7239 0400 or email ageingbetterincamden@ageukcamden.org.uk. We look forward to welcoming you.
