• I AM loath to write again about Camden Labour’s continuing abuse of the selection process – which has seen sitting councillors removed and candidates imposed by the hard right – but the acceptance of this process by the three stooges who have been imposed on South Hampstead by a sectarian cabal demands a response.

The three candidates were not selected by local party members. They were imposed via a thoroughly corrupted process, which saw the sitting councillors removed and unknown members of the party installed.

It was an appalling abuse of power, and the failure of our local MPs to challenge this adds insult to the injury being done to local democracy.

The imposed candidates should have refused to be part of such a politically degenerate charade. They shame the party and the wider labour movement.
