• IT came as no surprise to those of us living in this corner of the borough that this month’s International Medical Geography Symposium listed two places here (Tottenham Court Road and St Giles) among the 10 unhealthiest places to live in the whole country – and another part of Camden (Hatton Garden) was also on the list.

Since the council’s latest road schemes around here include such brilliant ideas as diverting traffic queues down a narrow residential street, making access to public transport more difficult, removing protection for cyclists, and chopping down the most magnificent and mature of our local street trees… I can only conclude that Camden planners are not satisfied with the borough hosting the third, fourth and sixth places on this league table of shame.

They’re clearly going for the top slot next time.
