Where’s Wally? Rangers midfielder Wally Downes gets lost in the fog

TOM Allnutt hit a second-half hat-trick to ensure Crouch End Rangers came from a goal down to beat Clerkenwell Old Boys 3-1 in the Camden Sunday League at a misty Hackney Marshes.

Rangers were staring their first defeat of the season in the face when a superb long-range strike crashed in past Timo Hilhorst midway through the first half to give Clerkenwell Old Boys the lead.

But midfielder Allnutt took centre stage after the interval as he scored a tremendous treble to put Rangers firmly in the title race.

First he levelled the scores when he nodded home Declan Taylor’s free-kick, before the pair linked up again to allow Allnutt to score a simple second from close-range.

Allnutt capped his man-of-the-match display from the penalty spot after Jon Taylor was brought down in the penalty area.

The result means Crouch End remain the only unbeaten team in Division One and are three points behind leaders Badu with two games in hand.
