FOOTBALLERS from top youth club AFC can look back on a season of “amazing experiences” after just missing out on glory in their debut campaign in the semi-professional ranks.

The club’s Under-15s side were runners-up in the Eastern Junior Alliance (EJA) League Cup, narrowly losing 5-4 on penalties to Cambridge City.

Manager Liton Shah says the ever-improving side have “done themselves proud”, adding that he’s already searching for new players from across Camden and Islington who are looking to tackle a fresh challenge.

“It has been an amazing experience for all the players involved, who have gone from strength-to-strength as the season wore on,” he said.

“The boys have showed they can dig in deep at the highest level while playing some attractive football.

“We are now looking to take all age groups into the EJA for the upcoming season.

“It will give boys a chance to test themselves against other semi-professional set-ups while testing them against high calibre opponents.”

AFC are looking to add players to all their  squads, which range from Under-7s to Under-16s.
