A CLUB full of talented young footballers from across Camden and Islington is getting ready to tackle the big time after securing a place in one of the toughest leagues in the country.
After more than four months of negotiating and ticking boxes, AFC have been accepted into the Eastern Junior Alliance League this coming season – a competition considered by many to be a stepping stone between the academy levels within the game and the professional ranks.
AFC coach Liton Shah believes playing at such a high level will give his players a better chance of making it within the professional game.
“We’re the only club that can offer boys from Camden and Islington the chance to play at such a competitive level,” he said. “Playing in our local leagues is great, but being able to compete in the Eastern Junior Alliance League will really help our players to develop. It will also give them a much better chance of carving out a career within the professional ranks.”
