Actor Richard Wilson with Tulip Siddiq

• REGARDING the pictures of Richard Wilson and Emma Thompson with Ms Siddiq (Labour, actually! Actors reveal election colours, May 25). I considered these two people to be intelligent and well educated, alas no more.

I remember the answer Glenda Jackson gave, when asked why she stood and held the position Ms Siddiq is seeking: “To get rid of Margaret Thatcher.” Not to improve the area or improve conditions of the electorate.

For the only comment regarding these people, I quote the character played by Richard Wilson: “I don’t believe it!”
