Hot water

Problems with our hot water

• I AM a Camden council tenant of approximately 49 years.

My son and I have had problems with the hot water supply for almost a year now.

On contacting the repairs service, we are told the engineers will attend the communal boiler room.

When we call them back for an update because the hot water isn’t restored, we are told that they are aware of the problems and they are looking into it.

Later we were told a temporary boiler would be installed.

We still don’t know if one was installed, after many months without adequate hot water.

I have spent many hours on the phone, ringing the repairs service – most of the time on hold – but without the situation being resolved or properly dealt with.

I hope that a letter in the CNJ will highlight the problems with the repairs service and warn other Camden Council tenants what a complete shambles the service has become!

I was about to make a formal complaint (for the second time) when the contractor put a letter through my door on October 1 to say they will be working on site in a matter of days.

Hot and cold supply will however be “shut off” for a full day.

I have no faith at all that the council will resolve the situation because they have had almost a year to fix it already.

Gas and electricity bills have risen here due to the above and that’s caused extra stress and anxiety.
