A reply from councillors concerning a ceasefire would have been courteous… there wasn’t one

• IT is dismaying that Camden councillors seem to be systematically ignoring voters’ concerns over Palestine.
Evidently I shouldn’t be surprised to have heard nothing after writing to my three ward councillors on January 22. I urged them, no doubt like other voters, to support a ceasefire at their next full meeting.
My letter was sent via the website Write To Them. I used my own words, as instructed on the site, rather than a template. Even if the councillors opposed a ceasefire, a reply would only have been common courtesy.
The Labour Party leader’s position now seems more nuanced. This is not before time given that he defended the Israeli government’s “right” to block vital supplies in Gaza.
