Brexit

Content with unaccountability provided it comes from the EU?

• I WAS interested to read the letter from Martin Plaut regarding the advantages and disadvantages of PR versus FPTP, first-past-the-post, (Proportional representation systems are problematic, June 2).

It is a difficult one and I can see the pros and cons of both arguments, but in the main agree with Mr Plaut.

The thing that struck me at the end of the letter were his comments that PR is flawed as it produces unaccountable politicians.

I recall Mr Plaut in letters to your paper being a strong advocate of us remaining in the European Union.

Since that involved having a commission that is unelected by any method at all and having a constitution that was voted out by two countries but then imposed anyway I assume that Mr Plaut is content with unaccountability provided it comes from the EU.
