A modest proposal for dealing with the water company executives…

• HEAVY fines don’t seem to be a sufficient disincentive for the water company bosses whose leaks and pollution of our rivers continues apace despite such penalties.

Clearly a new strategy is required.

Well, we’ve spent £370million up front on the untried Rwanda scheme.

So wouldn’t it make sense to deploy it, not against the small boat people but against the big water executives?

Sending just a few of them to Rwanda might provide the encouragement the rest need to stop charging us vast amounts of money for filling our river systems with sewage.
