A demonstration will call for action on Camden’s pension fund
Thursday, 9th January
• I SEE that campaigners are proposing a demonstration outside the Camden Town Hall on Judd Street when the council meets at 6pm on Monday January 20 “to demand Camden Council divest its pension fund from all companies complicit in the ongoing killings and Israeli occupation of the Palestinian people”.
Let’s hope most of us will attend as we have a particular responsibility.
Our constituency MP is the prime minister. He advocates continuing the exporting of arms in support of the Israel Defense Forces and therefore for use against the Palestinians in Gaza.
What is exported is an essential part of the fighter bombers provided by the US to enable the IDF to bomb and kill the people of Gaza including women and children. No one can be ignorant of that unless they fail to read the papers or watch TV news.
Before the Second World War, hard as it may be to believe, many here in Britain supported or ignored the behaviour of the Nazis who were able to commit unspeakable crimes.
Many, like me, have resigned from the Labour Party over this. Perhaps we should have stayed in and fought from the inside.
