Bin Regent's Park towpath

Overflowing bin along the Regent’s Park towpath

• WITH so many people alert to the perils of plastic and litter for wildlife it is upsetting to see this overflowing bin along the Regent’s Park towpath.

All this litter will blow into the canal and, if not then picked out by canal users, it will end up in the Thames and the sea.

People of Camden, we need to do something quickly about this. Obviously taking your own reusable cup and fork/spoon is one simple solution. But could more be done at Camden Market to help eaters return their finished utensils?

This is the beauty spot where everything gets dumped. I feel turning it into an Instagram-able location might help focus minds on our throwaway culture.

Despite so much knowledge about biodiversity loss, using up natural resources and the climate crisis, we still just reach for the bin, or sometimes the ground by the bin.

That is why mid-summer 2023 has to be the time to make a few personal lifestyle changes, even if you’re on holiday.
