Swan romance: A better role model, please!

• SO, it’s all about Wallace, the snow white hero flying in to save the day. Mrs Newby, the widow, (Winifred) – whose pond he came to share – is relegated to a supporting role, (Now Hampstead Heath’s swan romance becomes a book! October 15).

This is 2020 not 1950. My poor old brain can’t keep up. I thought we had gained a better role model for girls of today than the tired old one of sitting around waiting to be rescued.
