YOU didn’t need a Magic 8 Ball on Monday night to know who the big winners were in division two of the Chalk Farm Pool League.
Eight was, however, the magic number, as early pacesetters King’s Cross Barbarians beat Regent’s Park TA 8-1 to extend their lead at the top of the table to eight points.
Led by husband and wife pairing Paul and Donna Donnelly, fellow newcomers Florin also turned on the style as they beat Cock Tavern 8-1.
The result was a welcome relief for the Holloway-based side as it ended a run of three straight defeats.
In division one, the King’s Cross Hawks remain top after chalking up a 6-3 victory over Cousins Elite.
Defending champions Sir Robert Peel, meanwhile, were taken to an unexpected frame decider by the Golden Lion, with John Beaney sealing a 5-4 win for the Queen’s Crescent side.
