Face masks: ‘All faces, all people of different racial backgrounds, differ in their sizes’
• CHINA makes millions upon millions of universal face masks and people all over the world can be seen wearing them when you watch TV.
The UK, as a multi-racial society, is no different. All faces, all people of different racial backgrounds, differ in their sizes.
There must be one basic mask for mass-production reasons, or you can simply make your own, (Nurses get an OBE but no PPE, October 16: “Special filtered masks were designed for white male nurses and didn’t fit properly on the faces of Filipino nurses.”).
Many extended families are themselves multi-racial. My own extended family ranges from Africa, the Caribbean, the Philippines, Sweden, the Netherlands, Ireland, Syria, Scotland and England. My children are entitled to both Israeli and Irish passports.
I have heard no complaints from any of them about mask-fitting. When my daughter makes face mask for a charity they are the one size to fit the human race. If you think it’s too loose just make a few adjustments and don’t make a racial issue of it.
