Man arrested after crashing car in Queen’s Crescent attempting to flee police

OFFICERS have arrested a man after he was seen driving erratically and crashed into a car in Queen’s Crescent after failing to stop for police.
The incident happened at 7.50am on Saturday (May 30) and the roads around the collision were closed for a number of hours but have since reopened.
A spokesperson for the Met Police said: “Officers from the Metropolitan Police Special Constabulary spotted a vehicle driving erratically in the area of Mansfield Road, NW5.
“Officers signalled for the vehicle to stop which it did so in Queen’s Crescent.
“The driver was aggressive in manner and on exiting his vehicle cause damage to a police car. In trying to evade police the driver crashed his car into a parked vehicle at low speed and has been detained.”
The driver was taken to hospital following his arrest as a precaution and remains there for assessments.

The car was stationed near the junction of St Thomas Gardens.
