My 93-year-old mother needs her walking stick

10 August, 2017

• ON Tuesday August 1 my mother, aged 93, left her walking stick, a gift from her daughter, on a rail near the Vale of Health, Hampstead Heath.

When I went back five minutes later it was still there but a woman who had noticed it told me not to remove it and threatened me with taking a photograph of me “stealing it”.

Being autistic I did not know how to deal with this situation and left feeling very upset and disturbed. My mother came back with me 15 minutes later but the stick had gone. Has it been handed in anywhere as lost property?

We would like to know how to get it back. Or is a young person really happy depriving a pensioner of her walking aid?
