Hurricanes’ title setback

01 November, 2018

THERE was a shock at the table on Monday night as the King’s Cross Assassins shot down title contenders King’s Cross Hurricanes in the top flight of the Chalk Farm Pool League.

The Assassins chalked up a famous 5-4 victory at the Hurricane Rooms in King’s Cross, costing their local rivals the chance to leapfrog leaders Boston Arms at the top of the table.

In Division Two early pacesetters Green Man extended their lead at the top to 11 points with a 6-3 victory over King’s Cross Invaders.

The Islington-based side were always going to bolster their hopes of winning the title with closest rivals Cousins Night Walkers and Boston Rimmers going head-to-head – a showdown that finished 5-4 in the Night Walkers’ favour.
