THE head of Hampstead Heath is to step down from the role.
Superintendent Bob Warnock shared his plans with colleagues this week after eight years in the role managing the famous open space. He has worked for the City of London, the Heath’s guardians, for 30 years.
One of the main challenges for his successor will be to revitalise the Heath after the damage caused by record visitor footfall during the coronavirus crisis.
Anne Fairweather, the chair of the City of London Corporation’s Hampstead Heath Management Committe said: “It has been an absolute pleasure working with Bob. He has gone above and beyond in his role as Superintendent. He will be greatly missed by many.”
