THE Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton will give birth in the private wing of St Mary’s Hospital for the third time.
Metal security barriers have been installed and parking has been suspended in South Wharf Road in Paddington in anticipation of a big media turnout.
The “operational measures” have gone up outside entrance of the Lindo Wing, the NHS hospital’s private births ward.
Deluxe packages in the Lindo Wing cost between £6,000 and £8,000 for the first day of a delivery, with an extra £1,550 per extra night afterwards. A deposit of £7,000 is also required of the parents.
The Imperial NHS trust, which runs the hospital, said: “Staff and patients at St Mary’s Hospital will have noticed that a number of operational measures have been put in place along South Wharf Road this week, most notably the installation of some metal barriers and the suspension of some parking.
“These security measures will help ensure that all of our staff, patients and their families can go about their business as safely and as easily as possible during this anticipated period of heightened media attention.”
