Camden Town stabbing: Second man arrested on suspicion of murder

Detectives say a "number of active enquiries are in hand"

A SECOND man has been arrested on suspicion of murder in the Camden Town fatal stabbing investigation.

Assad Abdullah Yarow, 25, known as ‘Nutz’, died after being stabbed in Camden High Street on September 12.

A second man was also stabbed and has since been discharged from hospital.

A 22-year-old man was arrested yesterday (Wednesday) on suspicion of murder. He was taken to north London police station and has been released on bail until a date in mid-October.

A 27-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday on suspicion of murder and has also been bailed until next month.

Detectives have renewed an appeal for any footage of the incident, including dash cam footage, to be submitted online.

A post-mortem examination took place at St Pancras Mortuary on Tuesday and found the cause of Assad’s death to be a wound to the neck.

His death triggered the third murder investigation to be launched within five days in Camden last week.

Detectives say a “number of active enquiries are in hand”.

Detective Chief Inspector John Hughes, from Specialist Crime, who is leading the investigation, said: “We know that the attack took place in by Camden Town tube station which is a very heavy footfall area.

“I know that people will have footage relating to this incident and I urge those people to help us by providing phone footage or dash cam to assist officers in piecing together a picture of events leading up to and immediately following the attack on Assad Yarow.”
