White light gets go ahead

AFTER a three-month consultation period, communities in and around Kentish Town have chosen the model of street lighting they would like to see installed in the area, and they have opted for natural white light to replace the present orange glow.
Camden Council installed four different types of street lights around the neighbourhood for a three-month period, so that residents were able to choose their favourite.
They have opted for a design called Fusion, which is described as having a “traditional turn of the century appearance”, which the council believes will compliment the architecture of the area.
The lamps will be fitted with full spectrum white bulbs rather than the orange sodium lighting more common to main streets.
The new lights will be installed along Lupton Street, Raveley Street, Ospring Road and Lady Margaret Road as part of the Home Zone scheme that aims to promote a more neighbourly feel in residential streets.
