| Cinema’s late, late showings |
A CINEMA in Swiss Cottage
is to show films in the middle of the night to movie-mad fans
desperate to be the first to see Hollywood blockbusters.
Vue Cinema at the 02 Centre in Finchley Road can now stay
open until 3.30am on 10 nights a year.
A clause agreed at a Camden Council licensing meeting on Monday
night allows the cinema to be among the first venues in the
world to show blockbusters Star Wars: The Revenge of The Sith,
The Fantastic Four and Batman Begins.
Neighbours had complained that late screenings would lead
to sleepless nights as chattering movie-goers left the cinema.
Marie Garside, of Frognal Estate Residents Association, said:
“Patrons will have to pass through streets of hopefully
sleeping residents who will undoubtedly be disturbed.”
But cinema manager Kamaljit Singh Dosanjh said disturbance
would be kept to a minimum. |
