| Tower block alert |
KENTISH Town residents
ignore proposals to build tower blocks at nearby Archway at
their peril, a leading pressure group warned this week.
Kate Calvert, chairwoman of the Better Archway Forum, has
urged people from neighbouring Camden to express their views
on plans to develop the run- down shopping precinct before
it is too late.
Residents can voice their concerns to London Assembly Labour
member Jeanette Arnold at a public meeting tonight (Thursday).
Ms Calvert said: “Archway has been designated a suitable
area for tall buildings – taller than the current tower
– and for ‘densification’, which could be
the green light for squeezing as many properties in as possible.”
Islington Council has received about 700 replies to consultation
on the plans. It will be consulting Camden Council.
Tonight’s meeting is at 7.30pm in Hargrave Park School,
Hargrave Park, Archway. |
