The successful applicant will need to be self-motivated and able to demonstrate an ability to work on their own initiative within established procedures, alongside and with the active support of a strong local and head office management team.

Responsibilities will include:-
• Planning Service with service users
• Managing carer holidays
• Liaising with Social Service Officers
• Supporting Care Staff
• Out of hours support

Elderly Project Worker
Salary: NJC pay Scale 4 sp.18 £18,150 pa (inclusive)
(Initially for one year’ further extension is dependant on the availability of further funding)

The Bengali Workers’ Association (BWA) is an established charitable organisation working for the welfare of Bangladeshi people living in the London Borough of Camden.

We are seeking to recruit an experienced and well skilled Elderly Project Worker to reduce isolation and engage senior citizens in a positive framework. The applicant must have, at least, one year’s experience of working with senior citizens of Bangladeshi origin and also have experience in project management and development issues in a voluntary sector setting.

The applicant should possess relevant qualifications and also have excellent organisation and communication skills, experience of organising events, outreach work, general advice on health, welfare rights and facilitating meetings and seminars. The applicant should also have excellent report writing skills and a capacity to work in a small team that would in turn require you to work on your own initiative with minimum supervision. The applicant must speak fluent English and Bengali/Sylheti.
