I held my nose to vote for The Liar

Lennie and Beverly Gibb who have always voted Labour |
VOTING at the Parliament Hill school polling station started
early with queues forming at 7am before staff opened the doors
of the school gym.
Returning officer Thomas Ribbits, dressed in full morning suit
as a mark of respect for the democratic process, said
the flow had been steady and picked up in the evening as
workers clocked off from offices and workplaces across the ward.
Traditionally a Labour stronghold voters said they were going
to support Glenda Jackson despite their dislike of Tony Blair.
Lennie and Beverley Gibb said they had always voted Labour, and
saw no reason to change now. Mr Gibb, who works for Camden Council,
said: They still offer the best deal for working people.
Beverley, who works at Sainsburys in Camden Town, added:
Glenda Jackson has been a good MP.
Alexis Chandon, who lives in Brookfield Mansions, Highgate Road,
said: Im holding my nose and voting for The Liar.
Blair may be wrong about the war, but I cant even think
about waking up tomorrow with a Tory government in place.
But there was disappointment for the Tobin family. Labour supporters
Claudia Tobin, 18, turned up with her mother Marianne to vote
for the first time, only to discover she was not registered to
vote. Close to tears, the first time voter blamed a council cock-up.
She now lives in Bath but had recently moved from Dartmouth Park
Road. Her mother explained when the family moved, they asked for
postal votes and they were still registered at their old
address.
She decided out of solidarity with her daughter she would not
cast her vote. She added: The council told us it was a busy
time and they only had a certain amount of staff. Thats
not acceptable.
