YOU ARE NICKED, MY BEAUTY

A COMPUTER-savvy crime victim who had a laptop stolen from his Camden Town flat snared the burglar with a secret hi-tech camera which automatically delivered the evidence via email.
Richard East, who lived in Camden High Street but has since moved, logged on to his internet email account within minutes of discovering the break-in last July – and found the photos which lead to 28-year-old Terry Payne’s conviction.
Wearing a stripy jumper with the sleeves pulled down over his hands to avoid fingerprints, Payne, of Crowndale Road, Camden Town, just two weeks out of prison for previous burglaries, was snapped as he entered Mr East’s bedroom.
Working with an accomplice, he grabbed a laptop computer, an ipod music player, a playstation and DVDs before making a getaway.
