| Epic awards line-up to honour
unsung heroes |
NOMINATIONS have been arriving at the Town Hall for new
awards which shine the spotlight on Camdens unsung heroes.
The Exceptional People In Camden awards better known as the
Epics have already captured the public imagination, with
nominations rolling in.
But there is still plenty of time for residents to put names forward.
The New Journal is backing the awards for those who go out of their
way to help others. The award categories are:
YOUNG CAMDEN: This prize will go to an under-25
who has worked hard for their community.
CARING FOR ANOTHER: The perfect award for anyone who
has gone out of their way to care for somebody.
MAKING COMMUNITY SAFER: This will go to somebody
who has helped make residents feel safer in their neighbourhood.
IMPROVING THE ENVIRONMENT: The winner doesnt
have to be an ecology expert but will have contributed to making
Camden greener.
BRINGING COMMUNITIES TOGETHER: This award will
reward somebody who has helped bring residents from different groups
closer together.
OUTSTANDING CONTRIBUTION TO CAMDEN. The star
prize is for a person or a group considered to have worked hard
for a number of years to make Camden a better place to live and
work in.
Nomination forms are available at Camden Councils website
www.camden.gov.uk. They can be collected from the New Journal offices
in Camden Road, Camden Town. Nominations, with reasons for your
choices, can be sent to ashley.wilcox@camden.gov.uk.
The New Journal will also be printing nomination forms in coming
weeks. They must be in by October 3. |
