Pizza delivery no-go zones

A PIZZA firm is refusing to deliver to four estates across Camden after three bikes and countless pizzas were stolen in less than a month.
Domino’s Pizza in Regent’s Park Road, Chalk Farm is refusing to deliver to Robert Street, Stanhope Street and Cumberland Market on the Regent’s Park Estate, Chalton Street in Somers Town, Lismore Circus in Gospel Oak and Prince Of Wales Road in Kentish Town after a series of attacks.
Manager Attila Fekete said: “We’ve lost three bikes in the last four weeks and staff are attacked all the time – it just isn’t worth delivering to these places with the money we are losing.
“The thieves are professional. They break into the ignition and ride off while our staff are delivering pizzas – we just don’t need it.”
In addition to the streets listed, wider areas around each of them are delivered to only at the discretion of staff, with customers in Somers Town, Gospel Oak and Regent’s Park often asked to collect their pizzas from the store, Mr Fekete said.
Pizza Hut in Camden High Street is also refusing to deliver to certain streets but has refused to say which.
Last week police chased off youths who attempted to rob a Pizza Hut bike in Castlehaven Road, Camden Town, while a gang made off with pizza and garlic bread from Barlow Drive, West Hampstead, after assaulting a Dominos delivery man.
